   • So to sum up, in terms of substance X-Men: Evolution is noticably weaker than the 90's show and delivers best in the third and fourth seasons, but it looks really good and offers some interesting takes on the different characters and their ways to becoming the X-Men or The Brotherhood. 2 out of 3 found this helpful.

   Are there any problems with the evolution series compared to X-Men?

   • About my only problems with the Evolution series in comparison to the 90's X-Men series is the lack of focus on adult characters like Storm and Beast. The latter only gets significant time either when he's doing his scientific duties or when his "inner beast" rages out of control on some occasions.

   • Kids alike will enjoy Evolution, and real fans should just step aside and let it go. However, to those who really want to watch the original, classic X-Men universe, watch the original X-Men animated series (which is not so much for kids, more for the older generations).

   It’s what got me into X-men and is the reason I love it so much. I thought it was a great show, and features a lot of the popular X-men storylines, like Dark Phoenix, Apocolaypse, etc. It is much more lighthearted then most superhero shows/movies, as it’s aimed at kids, so was fun to watch.
