Dark Matters is the six episode prequel series of Heroes Reborn. It was originally exclusive to the Heroes Reborn app. The first webisode was released on the app on July 9, 2015. The other five parts later became available on the app on July 22, 2015. NBC released the entire series on NBC.com, Hulu and YouTube on August 10, 2015.
Dark Matters: Chapter One
Original Air Date: 7 July 2015 The prequel series begins as the mysterious Hero_Truther puts out a rallying cry for EVOs to declare themselves by telling personal stories in the wake of lies and fearmongering. This prompts Phoebe Frady to reveal to her brother, Quentin, that she can manipulate shadows.
Dark Matters: Chapter Two
Original Air Date: 23 July 2015 Quentin encourages Phoebe to continue documenting her story when she begins college, where she becomes fast friends with her roommate Aly. As Phoebe's power grows, she discovers that there's much more to her ability than she initially realized, but Quentin worries that it may be too much for her to handle.
Dark Matters: Chapter Three
Original Air Date: 23 July 2015 After a pro-EVO demonstration at the college gets out of hand, Phoebe is arrested and forced to register in a national database. When Phoebe is approached by Harris with a job offer at the fast-growing tech company named Renautas, it raises Quentin's suspicions.
