Snowpiercer is an American post-apocalyptic dystopian thriller television series that premiered on May 17, 2020 on TNT. It is based on both the 2013 film of the same name, directed by Bong Joon-ho, and the 1982 French graphic novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob, Benjamin Legrand and Jean-Marc Rochette, from which the film was adapted.

The series launched on Sunday May 17, 2020 at 9p m. It was previously planned to launch on Sunday, May 31.The network was responding to the growing appetite for content as the majority of Americans are in lockdown.It took a journey of five years across three networks and multiple showrunners before Tomorrow Studios was able to shepherd “Snowpiercer” to its May 17 debut on TNT.The second season of the show, halted production due to the Coronavirus pandemic.Much of the series is based on the original 2013 film, Snowpiercer. The fourth and final season of the hit drama Snowpiercer is set to premiere exclusively on AMC and AMC+ on Sunday, July 21 at 9pm/8c. Seasons 1 and 2 will be available to stream exclusively on AMC+ beginning Saturday, June 1, with the third season debuting on the service Saturday, June 8.
