The Commonwealth vessel Andromeda, captained by Dylan Hunt, responds to a distress call only to find it's a trap. Warships surround them and open fire. In a last ditch attempt, Capt. Hunt evacuates the ship and it gets trapped in the gravity well of a black hole where time slows dramatically.
While preparing the corpse of Dylan's former first officer and friend, Gaheris Rhade, for transport to the remainder of his clan, the Andromeda experiences something strange. A live Rhade appears before Beka and Trance to destroy the tesseract machine.
