S1.E1 ∙ Welcome to Versailles. King Louis XIV of France begins preparations of transitioning his fathers hunting lodge into a grand palace he envisioned.
The series of Versailles consists of three seasons with thirty episodes all together. Every season includes 10 episodes.
Louis meets Guillaume d'Orange in a relentless combat and returns to Versailles full of new energy. The court is in shock of two new deaths and Montespan feels herself increasingly isolated.
Season 1. Versailles, 1667. Haunted by the trauma of the Fronde as the nobles of his court begin to rebel against the monarchy, Louis XIV (George Blagden) in his 28th year in a Machiavellian political move decides to make the nobility submit by imposing a definite move of the court from Paris to Versailles, his father's former hunting lodge.
