    Warning: Full spoilers for the episode follow...

    "Everyone in this part of Brooklyn is already dead."

    And so ends Louie's Elevator miniseries (of sorts). With an affectionate moment between Louie and Amia - and a Hungarian waiter asked to sit and read Amia's touching farewell letter to Louie at a posh bistro.

    There was no major swerve right there at the end. Amia didn't die of a stroke. Louie's kids didn't get swept away in the hurricane flooding. It all played out (mostly) straight. With moments of quirky levity thrown in - like Louie holding the waiter's hand at the end when he was trying to tell Amia that he felt the same way.

    The six-part Elevator series was an interesting deviation from the Louie norm. Not that it was without trademark Louie-isms, but the this long-form type of tragicomedy really does reflect how this series really is "Louie doing whatever he wants to do." Even if it means not providing his audience with the type of f***ed up stories they've grown accu...
