Stan finally strikes it rich with a baked potato opener, and grows tired of being browbeaten by Dorothy. He asks Dorothy's help in wooing some Japanese investors, but Dorothy doesn’t trust him. Blanche buys a box of Rose’s old junk and discovers it contains a surplus of St. Olaf war bonds.

1. In the notes that Stan sends to Dorothy about his meeting with the Japanese businessmen, Joe Isuzu is mentioned. Joe Isuzu was the fictional spokesperson for Isuzu Motors, played by David Leisure. Leisure appeared in "Empty Nests", the backdoor pilot for Empty Nest, as well as Empty Nestitself as a main character.

Goofs
1. When Stan is standing in the doorway with an untied bow tie, the ends of the bow tie are even. In the next, shot, the right side is longer than the left. Then in the shot after that, the left side is longer than the right. 2. Stan stops by to ask Dorothy to tie his bow tie. However, in several subsequent shots, the now-tied bow tie is obviously a hook-on.
