Jack Moves Out is the twenty-first episode of Season 3 of Three's Company, and the 52nd overall episode of the series. Directed by Dave Powers and co-written by Paul Wayne and George Burditt, it first aired 8 May 1979 on ABC.

Larry offers Jack a job as a live-in cook for the Laytons, Larry's boss and his wife. While Jack is not too thrilled about the idea at first, he later seriously considers it when he gets into an argument with Janet and Chrissy. He moves out and prepares dinner for the night for the Laytons. However, Jack gets more than he bargained for when Mrs. Layton makes passes at him. He really has a real hard time trying to fend off her amorous advances as she even tries to play "footsie" with him while they're having dinner together!

When he decides that he's had enough of dealing with Mrs. Layton, Jack, now needing a place to stay, he tries to get Larry to take him in for the night until he can patch things up with the girls. Larry gives him three reasons why he can't stay with him, namely 36-24-36, the measurements of his date for the evening. Jack is forced into trying to sneak back into the apartment through the living room window, which is usually left open.

Meanwhile, Janet and Chrissy are stuck in the apartment trying to learn how to cook and learn how to protect themselves; before Jack decided to move out, a security alarm system salesman named Alvin Morrell tried to interest the roommates in the system for the apartment, only to be turned away by Jack. Now since Jack has moved, the girls keep a baseball bat in the bedroom with them in case of a burglar, as well as a "booby trap" which makes noise planted at the living room window that Jack doesn't know about, but then finds out about when he returns to the apartment!

A cop who sees Jack "breaking" back into the apartment. When the roommates tell him that they all lived together before Jack decided to move out, only to try to move back in, the now envious, ogling cop asks "Why did you break out!?"
