East Africa University was founded in 1998 in Bosaso. It is a private, non-profit university. While the main campus, with a focus on business and social sciences, remains in Bosaso, there are also sites in Buhodie, Golgogob, Golkayo, Cardho, Garowe and at Erigavo across the border in Somaliland.
