He was a child prodigy who, aged eleven, became the youngest student to enter the Royal Academy Schools.
A founding member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, Sir John Everett Millais was internationally renowned during his lifetime, and his career culminated in his election as President of the Royal Academy in 1896. As a child, Millais displayed a precocious artistic talent.
