Charles Stansfeld Jones was born in London England in 1886, and first came to Canada in 1910. He went to New York in 1918, to England from 1927 to 1930, then returned to Canada, where he lived in Deep Cove, B.C. Jones was involved with the Canadian Art Guild in 1944.

He also became an O.T.O. initiate, serving as the principal organizer for that order in British Columbia.
