This recipe has been handed down in my family for several generations. The sauce is incredible; so smooth and tasty. Adding even a tiny amount of horseradish makes it even better. If you already have a favorite corned beef recipe, you could still make the sauce to serve with your recipe. The sauce is silky-smooth, absolutely delicious, and makes the whole meal! Serve horseradish on the side, if desired.

Our recipe for corned beef and cabbage is so delicious, we'd like to eat it year-round. The whole spices included in the braising liquid are our secret ingredients (the tangy horseradish cream doesn't hurt, either!). Cabbage and potatoes are cooked in the same pot as the brisket, so everything comes out perfectly tender and infused with flavor.

This is a post St. Patrick’s Day quiche I like making with leftover corned beef; inspired after brainstorming with my husband for something besides sandwiches or hash. I have also made this with deli pastrami or corned beef other times of the year. Serve with a dollop of horseradish cream sauce = a mixture of sour cream and fresh grated horseradish. Note: this was NOT a Ricotta entry as is shown in the contest entries - my mistake, oops!
