The departure of Adam Deibert in 2004 left The Aquabats a five-piece, effectively changing the band's sound and setting the stage for their career rejuvenation with Charge!!. In the summer of 2004, The Aquabats were signed to independent label Nitro Records and began work on a new studio album in the fall. [25]
