The Mid Hudson Civic Center began with a dream to be the most energetic and far-sighted municipal, civic and commercial complex in the Hudson Valley in the early 1960’s. It wasn’t until 1970 that the dream slowly became a reality through the fundraising efforts of the Poughkeepsie Area Fund.
Mid-Hudson Civic Center Inc. | Poughkeepsie NY is a not-for-profit community organization dedicated to providing cultural, recreational and educational opportunities to the Hudson Valley. It is comprised of three venues: Majed J. Nesheiwat Convention Center, McCann Ice Arena and Ice Time Sports Complex.
It was built in the 1970s as part of the general attempt at rehabilitation of the central district of the City of Poughkeepsie. It is located at 14 Civic Center Plaza, on a segment of what was formerly known as Market Street near the former Main Mall.
