  2. The only thing the movie adaptation has over the book (in my opinion) is the ending. While I rate the book highly, the ending was such a kicker. I really liked Anna's character and was rooting for her, so to have all of the anguish she experienced throughout the story amount to nothing was painful.

  5. Apr 11, 2014 · My first Jodi Picoult book and one of my very favorite reads of all time! I remember being shocked at the ending and also crying and not being able to stop. I agree that it was the ending that helped make the story unpredictable and real for me.

  6. Jan 31, 2024 · 5/5: Second time reading this book and loved it just the same as the first. I love how each person in the book has their own font and their own voice. I cried almost as hard as the first time. Still glad I never watched the movie because I hear they changed the ending. Big mistake.
