He founded the production and distribution company Cineville in 1990 with Christoph Henkel. Since October 2023 Cineville has also been operating as a streaming platform specializing in programming a curated selection of indie content. Colpaert made his directorial debut in 1991 with Delusion, which he co-wrote with Kurt Voss.

In September 2019, Angel Oak Films announced that they will produce and fully fund the Cineville production to be directed by Dito Montiel and starring Aaron Eckhart. The following year, Grindstone Entertainment Group acquired the distribution rights for North America and Latin America.

Cineville is een filmblog en een filmpas voor ongelimiteerd filmbezoek in tientallen bioscopen en filmhuizen door heel Nederland voor een vast bedrag per maand. Het project bestaat sinds 2009 in Amsterdam en is sinds 2011 ook buiten de hoofdstad in gebruik. Sinds 2022 is er naast Cineville Nederland ook Cineville België, met een aparte filmpas.
