Janet Q. Nguyen (born May 1, 1976) is an American politician who serves in the California State Senate. A Republican, she represents the 36th district, which includes coastal Orange County, Little Saigon, and parts of Los Angeles County.
Janet has a history of firsts. She was the first woman to represent the 72nd Assembly District, the first Vietnamese-American in the country to be elected to both the state Senate and state Assembly, the highest-ranking Vietnamese-American elected official in the United States and the only Asian American woman Legislator in California.
