Abbiategrasso, formerly written Abbiate Grasso (local Lombard: Biegrass; Milanese: Biaa), is a comune and town in the Metropolitan City of Milan, Lombardy, northern Italy, situated in the Po valley approximately 22 kilometres (14 miles) from Milan and 38 kilometres (24 miles) from Pavia.
Abbiategrasso is entirely included in the Lombard Park of the Ticino Valley. It is along the "line of the fountains", which divides the upper Po Valley from the lower Po Valley. The Abbiatense area, like the whole western Po valley, has been inhabited since the Bronze Age.
