Amarante has had a full career in his 25-plus years as a professional musician — it has taken him from Brazil to Los Angeles, and lots of places in between.
Jul 16, 2021 · In 2002, Amarante joined Orquestra Imperial — a big, 20-plus-piece samba band in the fashion of the late '40s and '50s — as a guitarist and vocalist. His profile in Brazil's alt-rock scene introduced the band to a broader audience, and Amarante's membership in Orquestra Imperial unwittingly set him on the path to the U.S.
