Jersey City is bordered by the Hudson River Waterfront overlooking all of Manhattan and features 30 miles of waterfront walkway with a multitude of restaurants and small attractions along the way, such as the well-known Colgate Clock, Powerhouse Arts district and the Newport Carousel and Ice Skating Rink, to name a few.
The city of Jersey was incorporated by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on January 28, 1820 from portions of Bergen Township, while the area was still a part of Bergen County.
