    • Cleveland Browns — Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M: After robust rumors and heavy smoke regarding an apparent infatuation with UNC QB Mitchell Trubisky in recent weeks, Cleveland's brain trust puts it in the fairway by taking this year's best player with the opening selection.
    • Chicago Bears (from San Francisco 49ers) — Mitchell Trubisky, QB, North Carolina: The Bears wanted him so badly, they were compelled to deal up one slot at the cost of three picks ...
    • 49ers (from Bears) — Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford: The Niners take a defensive lineman in the first round for the third consecutive year, all of them Pac-12 products.
    • Jacksonville Jaguars — Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU: A very sensible pick. Fournette, widely regarded as the draft's best back and one who has drawn comparisons to Adrian Peterson, immediately bolsters an offense that hasn't had a 1,000-yard rusher since Maurice Jones-Drew in 2011.

This should have been a no-brainer from the start, as Garrett is the clear-cut top overall prospect in this class. The Browns made the smart move here.

This is still the most puzzling pick of the first round. The Bears just handed tons of money to a young veteran in Mike Glennon, then traded three mid-round picks just to move up one spot for another quarterback. They still have tons of needs on defense, and fewer premium picks with which to fill them.

Blake Bortles needs a balanced offenses to keep opponents honest, and the combo of Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon just didn’t get it done. Taking a running back in the top five is risky business, but Fournette is a rare talent. Now, they just have to rebuild the offensive line to give him the best chance to succeed.

I love the player, but the value is a little tough to swallow. Davis is indeed the top receiver prospect in this draft, but the early run after Davis proved the Titans had to take him here if he was their guy. He’s a polished, complete player and Marcus Mariota should be thrilled.

Speed kills in today’s NFL, so it makes perfect sense that the new 40-yard dash king didn’t fall out of the top 10. That said, Ross struggles against bigger, more physical corners, and his injury history is a big concern.

The league’s worst pass defense just landed the most complete corner in the draft outside the top 10 picks. That deserves one of this year’s highest first-round grades.

With the top three quarterbacks off the board, the Cardinals went to the other side of the ball and added the most versatile, athletic defender in the entire draft. Not bad for a former walk-on defensive back.

The Titans filled their biggest needs on both sides of the ball in the first round, but this pick was way more of a reach than their first one. Jackson’s athleticism and return ability is undeniable, but he needs plenty of time to develop before he’s ready to be an NFL starter on defense.

Harris has tons of upside, thanks to an explosive first step and wicked spin move. But his film is wildly inconsistent, and his numbers at the combine were just plain awful. In this year’s deep class of pass-rushers, there were better options available.
