Al Garth. Garth is best known for being a founding member of Loggins & Messina and a member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. In the seventies, he worked with Timothy B. Schmit while in Poco (obviously Tim was not an Eagle yet).
Al Garth was primarily a session and touring musician for The Eagles, contributing on violin and saxophone. Though not an official member of the band, his musicianship added a different layer of texture to the band’s sound in live settings.

Al Garth. (1975 - 1976) Saxaphone, Violin. Al was cursed with violin lessons by his parents at a very early age, but eventually had revenge by learning to operate the saxophone. This led circuitously to a career that has included work with such artists as Loggins and Messina, the Eagles, Soul Fuse, and others.
