Tadao Ando (安藤 忠雄, Andō Tadao, born 13 September 1941) is a Japanese autodidact architect [1] [2] whose approach to architecture and landscape was categorized by architectural historian Francesco Dal Co as " critical regionalism ". He is the winner of the 1995 Pritzker Prize .

- Church on the Water. Church on the Water is a place of worship designed on a waterfront in Tomamu, Japan. The building is also one of the most desired wedding destinations in Japan for its picturesque design.
Arguably Tadao Ando’s signature work is the Church of Light. Found in the small town of Ibaraki, about 25km outside of Osaka, the Christian temple shows Ando’s mastery of light and lightness. The dark concrete shell of the building is divided by a massive cross, the only source of natural light within the hall.
