Mar 6, 2023 · Known also by her stage name Blossom Rock, Marie Blake was cast as the part of Grandmama in the series. With her, she brought decades of acting experience, in both film and television. Blake was most well known for her role as Sally the switchboard operator in the popular "Dr. Kildare" movie series from the early 1940s (via IMDb ).
After the last of these in 1947, she left MGM, changed her stage name to "Blossom Rock", freelanced, and doing bit parts. She appeared in television often, becoming widely known through the part of "Grandmama" in The Addams Family (1964) series.
