Filmation's Tarzan remains one of the most faithful adaptations of Burroughs' Tarzan to date. Filmation's Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle left behind the childish monosylabic idiot character of the movie series for a more well-spoken jungle do-gooder.
Filmation rotoscoped many of Tarzan’s actions, tracing the cartoon over live-action footage of a real actor, giving the ape man a chiseled figure and realistic movement. This he-man Tarzan look clearly caught on with young hero-worshippers, as Tarzan’s exploits formed a major part of the CBS Saturday morning lineup for several years.

Nov 4, 2020 · Tarzan IS the noble savage in this outing as ERB originally envisoined him, and the voice acting by Filmation veteran Robert Ridgely (who you'll also recognize as the voice of Flash himself in Filmation's Flash Gordon) is spot-on, top notch, first rate, whatever accolades you care to use.
