Two Mexicans trying to cross the border are implicated in a murder they didn't commit. The film follows the fallout as the dead woman's husband pieces together the mystery of who was responsible for her murder.
On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has an approval rating of 54% based on 24 reviews, and an average rating of 6.30/10. The site's critical consensus reads: "Frontera is solidly cast, handsomely mounted, and well-acted; unfortunately, it's also rather dull and fairly forgettable".
