Dec 22, 2012 · I remember seeing Alka-Seltzer commercials all the time in the 1960's, but don't recall that one. My favorite George Raft film is "They Drive By Night," in which he co-starred with Humphrey Bogart. I think Raft had top billing.
George Raft starred in the 1969 Alka-Seltzer commercial "The Unfinished Lunch". It consisted of Raft incarcerated in a prison lunchroom. He takes a bite of the prison food and recoils. Suddenly he bangs his cup on the steel table. It ripples throughout the room. He starts intoning "Alka-Seltzer, Alka-Seltzer..."
In the early 1970s, Raft appeared in an Alka-Seltzer television commercial as a prison inmate, worked as a goodwill ambassador for the Riviera in Las Vegas and sold his house to move into an apartment in Century City.
