She was also nominated for an Emmy Award for her performance in the television series The People's Choice (1955). Garson was married twice, first to Edward Snelson in 1933 and then to Richard Ney in 1943. She had two children with Ney. Garson died on April 6, 1996, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 91.
