Immaculate Heart College (1906–1981) was a private, Catholic college located in Los Angeles, California. The college offered various courses including art and religious education studies. [1] [2] History. By June 1906, six young women had become the first graduates of the adjacent Immaculate Heart High School.
A Catholic, independent college preparatory school for girls in grades 6 through 12, Immaculate Heart has been located on a beautiful hillside property in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles since our founding by the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1906.
In 1906, the sisters opened the Immaculate Heart Convent and Immaculate Heart High School on Franklin Avenue in Los Angeles. In 1916, they chartered and opened Immaculate Heart College on the same property. In 1924 they became independent of Spain and formed a Pontifical Institute aligned with American customs and sensibilities.
