Since the beginning of his career as a writer and animator, John Kricfalusi has found himself in hot water one time after another. Critics and pundits condemned his early work on Ren & Stimpy for being too abstract and crude - never mind its obvious origins in the 'toons from decades past - and subsequent shows have all courted controversy at one time or another.

In 2003, however, Kricfalusi finally found the right home for his bawdy creativity: Spike TV. Signed to produce a series of cartoons culled from the reject bin at his former home Nickelodeon for being too offensive, John K. soon produced Ren & Stimpy 'Adult Party Cartoon', which this week finds its way onto DVD in the new set Ren & Stimpy: The Lost Episodes. Kricfalusi recently spoke to IGN via phone to discuss his new collection of cartoons, and explained how he tackles tough subjects like boogers and boobies for audiences of all ages.
