Jackie Templeton is a fictional character on the ABC Soap opera, General Hospital. She was portrayed by actress Demi Moore from January 4, 1982 to April 20, 1984.
Kim Delaney took over the role of Jackie Templeton from October 6, 2020-June 23, 2021.
On September 8, 2020, several sources broke the news that former AMC alum Kim Delaney would join the cast of General Hospital in a mysterious role. Her first day of filming will be on September 9, putting her first airdate sometime in late September or early October.
On September 25, 2020, Soap Opera News revealed that Delaney will be stepping into the role of Jackie. The date of her first appearance has yet to be announced.
On September 29, 2020, an official promo showing Kim Delaney as Jackie was released saying she would be on the week of October 5.
On October 5, 2020, Frank Valentini tweeted that Kim’s first appearance would be October 6, 2020.
Jackie Templeton was an investigative reporter who had previously interviewed Laura Collins. She arrived in Port Charles looking for her sister Laura Templeton.
At the same time, Laura Spencer was kidnapped by Stavros Cassadine. Cult member David Grey was ultimately found responsible for taking Jackie’s sister. Jackie was involved with Robert Scorpio until he married Holly Sutton.
Jackie was also involved in investigating the Susan Moore murder and publishing other news stories in town.
She left town and came back in 1983 on the arm of an enemy spy named Henrik Brenich. When Henrik is arrested and deported, Jackie was angry with Robert who was against the relationship from the beginning because he knew who Henrik really was. She remained vindictive towards Robert and Holly in several of his investigations before leaving Port Charles in early 1984.
On February 8, 2019, Shiloh was giving Sam McCall a tour of the Dawn of Day House. She was looking at framed photos and asked if one of them was Jackie Templeton. Shiloh said it was and they met doing charity work in Central America.
Jackie returned to town in October 2020 after Lulu Spencer called her to help investigate Cyrus Renault for The Invader. Lulu shares that she is a big fan of Jackie's work and they briefly reminisce about Jackie's past with Lulu's father, Luke. Later, Jackie reunites with Robert Scorpio at the Metro Court Hotel and punches him in his side.

In early 2016, Delaney was cast in God Bless the Broken Road, a feature film based on the song of the same name. [12] It was released in the United States on September 7, 2018. [13] In September 2020, Delaney joined the cast of General Hospital in the role of Jackie Templeton; she made her first appearance on October 6. [14]
