At Living Dangerously in March 1998, Storm and Al Snow defeated Shane Douglas and Candido. At Wrestlepalooza in May 1998, Storm and Candido defeated the Hardcore Chair Swingin' Freaks (Balls Mahoney and Axl Rotten ) to retain the ECW World Tag Team Championship.
He became part of the revived Triple Threat stable alongside Shane Douglas. While in the Triple Threat with the nickname "No Gimmicks Needed", he developed a rivalry with fellow member Lance Storm, who was soon replaced by Bam Bam Bigelow.
Independent Champion. In 1993 Chris Candido, along with his valet and girlfriend Tammy Sytch, aka Sunny, debuted in Smokey Mountain Wrestling. Candido was becoming an independent wrestling star. In a short time, he became a three-time SMW Junior Heavyweight Champion. He also won the SMW Beat The Champ Television Championship.
