Based on the novel All On The Never Never by Jack Lindsay, Live Now – Pay Later is both a comedy and a sharp and vivid commentary on the early 60s credit boom in Britain when the masses were enjoying a newfound spending power and learning to live beyond their means, thanks to the miracle of hire purchase.
Ian Hendry plays a smooth talking door-to-door salesman whose sales techniques involves seducing his female customers in order to persuade them to buy on credit. Unfaithful to his pregnant girlfriend, unrepentant Albert is also cheating his boss out of the profits.
Overview. Albert, a cheeky, womanising, door-to door salesman, with a never-take-no-for-an-answer attitude, lives his life for the moment, and with no thought of his future, or the consequences of his actions on the people he encounters.
A man deserts his pregnant mistress, and is then promoted at his job after blackmailing an estate agent.
