Killing Time is the debut album by American experimental rock trio Massacre. It was released in September 1981, through record label Celluloid. It consists of a compilation of recordings made at Martin Bisi 's OAO studio in Brooklyn, New York City in June 1981, and live recordings taken from their April 1981 Paris concerts.

Jul 2, 2021 · Massacre released one album, Killing Time, before disbanding for nearly 20 years. Their first wave as a group crashed fast and furiously and this one album, recorded in part live in Paris, and in part at Brooklyn's OAO Studio, is a perfect encapsulation of early '80s NYC.
For a band which existed for less than 18 months and only released one album (by the original incarnation), Massacre has had an uncommonly long afterlife. When Fred Frith formed the avant prog power trio he chose to work with two of the New York downtown scene's hottest musicians, Bill Laswell (bass) and Fred Maher (drums).
