For the most part, Mr. & Mrs. Pac-Man is a rather standard pinball game, save for the Pac-Man branding. Located in the center of the playfield is the "Pac Maze"; a large screen which can be accessed by landing the ball in a specific hole. It is an extremely basic take on Pac-Man, on a 5-by-5-pixel grid (as opposed to Pac-Man's 224-by-288 pixels), where you must fill the entire screen yellow without touching the "ghost". The left flipper selects the player's direction (moving clockwise), while the right flipper moves the player 1 pixel across the screen.
There is a second right flipper located towards the top of the playfield, which is automatically flipped with the same button as the lower flipper. The game also features a computerized voice which talks during gameplay.
•A bootleg version of the game titled Mr. & Mrs. Pec-Men was released in Brazil in 1983. It features a nearly-identical playfield and artwork, though the actual game logic is entirely reprogrammed.
•Some early Pac-Man merchandise was modeled after the artwork used in Mr. & Mrs. Pac-Man. Notable examples include a set of bride and groom Pac-Man figures from Coleco, the B-side artwork for "The Pac-Man Album", and certain pages from the 80s Pac-Man coloring books.
