Your support is helping us sustain our mission of connecting people to the experiences and stories of those affected by World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater by interpreting its enduring relevance. Donate. A Letter from Our President & CEO | Mike Hagee. Dear Friends and Supporters,
The National Museum of the Pacific War is located in Fredericksburg, Texas, the boyhood home of Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz. Nimitz served as commander in chief, United States Pacific Fleet (CinCPAC), and was soon afterward named commander in chief, Pacific Ocean Areas, during World War II.
The full National Museum of the Pacific War campus is a six-acre complex, including the George H.W. Bush Gallery, the Admiral Nimitz Gallery, the Plaza of the Presidents, the Japanese Garden of Peace, the Memorial Courtyard and the Pacific Combat Zone.
Formerly the Nimitz Museum, the complex is now the only museum in the Continental United States centered on World War II's Pacific campaign. Since 1968, the Museum has expanded to occupy a six-acre campus and gained a reputation as one of the premier military museums in the nation.
