Christopher Syn became the basis for the 1962 Disney production; there was also a novelization of the Disney theatrical version titled Doctor Syn, Alias the Scarecrow written by Vic Crume. In other media Films. Three film adaptations have been made of Dr. Syn's exploits. Doctor Syn (1937)
Dr. Syn alias the Scarecrow is in the best tradition of both Disney and folk heroes such as Robin Hood and Zorro. Patrick McGoohan is excellent in the role. I love the themes in the film, opposing oppressive taxation and involuntary service to government.
