Jackal, [a] also distributed under the title of Top Gunner, is an overhead run and gun video game released for arcades by Konami in 1986. The player must maneuver an armed jeep in order to rescue prisoners of war (POWs) trapped in enemy territory.
Top Gunner is a pseudo-3-D shooter. The game starts by dropping a jeep, by parachute, onto a beach. Then two men parachute in and get into the jeep. Now it's up to you to do two things. First, liberate the POW's and second, wreak mayhem and chaos as you blaze a path of glory toward main headquarters. Of course, the road to victory won't be easy.
