Thank you for your time and assistance. The World Languages Honor Societies recognize excellence in world language studies and commitment to the study of both language and culture. These organizations emphasize community service and leadership.
Cumberland Valley, in collaboration with the appropriate national organizations, recognizes students who have demonstrated excellence in French, German, and/or Spanish through membership in the National World Language Honor Society (NWLHS).
These honor societies, established by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish, French and German, exist to promote academic achievement in Spanish, French and German languages. In order to qualify for induction to these societies, students must meet the following criteria:
May 3, 2022 · Now that spring sports are in full swing it is time for a new event to happen: the World Language National Honor Society Induction Ceremony. In order to be eligible for this organization, a student must have completed three semesters of a world language.
The purpose of the Society is to recognize high achievement of high school students enrolled and promotes a continuing interest in advanced study of World Languages. Eligible members who are graduating seniors are recognized with an Honor stole or cord to wear at graduation.
World Language Honor Society. Students who are enrolled in a Third or Fourth level of Language Studies are eligible for membership in the World Language Society if they meet the following criteria: The student must have attained an overall GPA of 3.5.
The mission of the World Languages Honor Society is to recognize high student achievement and to promote a greater understanding and appreciation of Italian, Hispanic and French culture that fosters a continuing interest in world language studies.
