Mr. Parker, who was spearheading the effort to make Sanditon, a former fishing village, into a seaside resort with his business partner Lady Denham, invited one of the girls to stay with them over the summer. Charlotte decided to join them, and they headed to the Parker home: Trafalgar House. Her father explains, he has a rule about how far he will travel. Being they’re stay-at-home types. Fraser was entrusted with the task by Colonel Lennox. Hiding under a tree both are soaking wet, Captain Fraser comment how observant she was. Alison Heywood rushed to the parker home to write her brave Captain Carter. While writing she was a little sad the flower that arrive were not for her, but for her sister Charlotte. Getting to the proposal, as it happens while rowing in a boat. William Carter asks the questions Alison excitedly said yes as she went overboard into the water. She could not swim. Carter didn't seem to be able to jump in to save her, but it was Fraser who some how gets to her in time and has to pull her out of the water. A red coat came, she told Mary, she could not see Willian Carter, it was only Captain Fraser. Glad to have Captain Fraser call on her. She feared it might be Captain Carter, and she didn't want to face him. Sad that Captain Carter was too much of a coward to come and face her. Leaving to take a walk together along the beach, she wished a true friend would have given her the truth. She also learns that Captain Carter's story was not invented but merely borrows story of Captain Fraser. Then at the ball that night Alison confronted Carter while he was talking with a group of other young women. She refused to dance with him, asks only that she was fool enough to indulge his falsehood but please consider his behavior. That he might spare the next girl. Almost welcoming his scene of humor as he comes over to comment that she is abandoned and standing alone. Feeling like her summer was wasted. Being there, as a friend in need, he talks about how she had the most beautiful dress her is the most plain one at the ball. He assures her simple is not plain. Beauty needs no adornments and he thinks she has never looked lovelier. Taking to the dance floor together. Talking about how she will miss his sarcastic sense of humor. Staring into each other's eye as they dance together. Carter could only look on and feel jealous. Fraser coming the next morning to say bye to her. Alison explain honesty has a eloquence to it.
