  3. Jun 1, 2008 · Atys caribaeus & Atys sharpi. Abbott (1974) presented three species of Atys as occurring in Florida; namely, A. riiseana, A. sandersoni, and A. caribaeus. It is my opinion that Abbott’s descriptions and assignment of names is in error.

  4. The color of the Atys sharpi shell is translucent/clear to white (sometimes with a bluish tint). The shell is rather fragile, tall with fairly straight sides, and with a sunken apex. Incised lines are visible at top and base of shell, often not apparent in the center.
