The Memorial holds the digitised series AWM126 “ Army vehicle registration books” which covers Army (AMF) registrations from 1939 to 1972, and Second AIF registrations from 1939 to 1942. The records are ordered numerically by Army Registration Number (ARN).

The AWM126 series contains 27 bound volumes of records, which log the administrative details of vehicles in use by the Australian Army from 1938 to 1993.

In 2016 the Australian War Memorial that holds the majority of the Vehicle Registration Ledgers digitised their collection and made them available online. These can be found at this page of the AWM https://www.awm.gov.au/collection/AWM126/ .
Recent publication of Vietnam Records by the Australian War Memorial has made this task somewhat easier as the documents are readily available, and in many vehicle's records you will see the name of the AWM document that refers to the vehicle, which you can get from the AWM, or from REMLR.
