"It's your boy Kevin Hart, and welcome to Celebrity Squares! Let's meet tonight's Squares: (insert the names of eight celebrities) and our center square, (insert celebrity)! And now, your host, D.C. Young Fly!"

(also known as VH1 Celebrity Squares) is the sixth spinoff of Hollywood Squares but mainly focuses on African-American/Black-themed culture.

    Main Game

Two contestants (one playing as X and the other playing as O) face a panel of nine celebrities, each one sitting in front of a space on a large tic-tac-toe board. The contestants take turns picking squares. After a square is picked, the dollar value of that square is revealed, a question is asked, and the celebrity at that square gives an answer. The contestant in turn then decides to agree (which they do by pressing a green button) or disagree (which they do by pressing a red button) with that celebrity. The correct answer is then revealed. If the contestant is correct, they get the square; but if the contestant is incorrect, their opponent gets the square but not the money. However, if a contestant fails to get a square to block their opponent, the square is unclaimed, as a square for the win can’t be received by default. A contestant can win the game by getting three of their symbol in a row, either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. If it becomes impossible for a contestant to win by getting three in a row, they can win by being the first to get five squares. Winning the game wins the contestant additional cash ($250 in the first game, $500 in the second game). One of the squares is the “Secret Square”. The home viewers are shown which square is the Secret Square at the start of the game. If a contestant chooses the Secret Square and answer correctly, they win a mystery prize. At the end of the game, the contestant with the most money wins the game and advances to the “Lucky Seven” bonus round. The losing contestant receives a consolation prize.

    “Lucky Seven” Bonus Round

The winning contestant is asked a series of either/or questions within one minute. Each correct answer lights up a square green, but each incorrect answer places a red “X” on a square. The contestant must light up seven squares green by answering seven questions correctly before time runs out; doing so increases their total winnings to $10,000, while failing to do so adds $200 for every square lit up green to their winnings.

Before becoming the host, D.C. Young Fly was a panelist on the VH1 version of Hip Hop Squares in 2017 which also mirrors to DeRay Davis who was the host of this version and was a panelist himself in the original Hip Hop Squares on MTV2 in 2012 which in turn also mirrors to John Davidson who was a panelist on the original Hollywood Squares before becoming the host of his version in the 80s.

Kevin Hart is not only the executive producer, but also the announcer as well {similar to Ice Cube with the 2017 version of Hip Hop Squares}.

The set was a carry over from Hip Hop Squares (2017 version) & Nashville Squares.

The show was originally suppose to air on BET before VH1.

This was the second version of Squares to air on VH1, six years ago, the first was the Hip Hop Squares reboot in 2017.

This was the second spinoff to feature civilian contestants, eleven years ago, the first was the original Hip Hop Squares on MTV2 produced by Canter/Krank Industries in 2012.
