   • Despite some sexist aspects, this film comes through as a funny trip back to the comedy stylings of 1988. Everything about Coming to America is fairly predictable, but it has its moments -- Murphy and Hall play multiple roles in the movie, and certainly Murphy was in his prime.

Coming to America showcased Murphy at the height of his fame and success and it was the perfect vehicle for both him and Hall. Nonstop jokes are intended to keep the audience entertained, but many are overwhelmingly immature or simply not that funny.
