Daniel John Willett (born 3 October 1987) is an English professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. In April 2016, he won his first major championship at the 2016 Masters Tournament, becoming only the second Englishman to achieve the feat and the first European in 17 years to win at Augusta National . In 2010, he impressed at the BMW PGA Championship and broke into the top 100 of the Official World Golf Ranking for the first time. Despite a less successful 2011 season, he comfortably retained his tour membership. Willett's breakthrough on the European Tour occurred in June 2012 when he secured victory at the BMW International Open in Cologne.
