Jul 6, 2011 · Inspired by a true story, Invincible recounts the last 48 hours in the life of Marc-Antoine Bernier, a 14-year-old boy on a desperate quest for freedom. ‘How They Met Themselves’ was created in 1864 by Dante Gabriel Rossetti in Romanticism style.
Whatever the particular context, it is clear that the concept had some special meaning for Rossetti: "Called by Rossetti the ‘Bogie drawing’, it illustrates the legend of the Doppelgänger which had fascinated him since childhood" (Surtees).
Oct 5, 2011 · Rossetti referred to it as his ‘Bogie’ picture. The concept of doppelgangers was something that had fascinated him for years. It is perhaps odd, though, that he chose this particular theme to work on while he was honeymooning with Lizzie in Paris.
