When the children confront Morton about his abduction, he becomes paranoid that someone might find out that Denver is a real dinosaur. At the end, Denver is sold to a scientist named Professor Funt, who wants to examine and experiment on him, and use him to become famous.
Wally's first day on the job at the zoo takes a turn for the worse when the self-serving Dr. Funt captures Denver for his new high-tech exhibit. With the help of Wally's pals and a mischievous orangutan, Denver is rescued and Funt's inhumane approach to zookeeping is discredited.
Freddy Facknitts is a boy genius who invents a time machine that sends Denver and Morton Fizzback into the past and into the middle of a crazy caveman competition called Mammothball.
