  4. Step 3: DIY Thrusters. I got a lot of ideas from the web and decided to go with bilge pump cartridges. They're relatively cheap (about $20+) each and have about the right amount of torque and speed. I used two 500 Gallons/hour cartridges for the up/down thrusters and four 1000 GPH cartridges for the side thrusters.
