Dora de Houghton Carrington (29 March 1893 – 11 March 1932), known generally as Carrington, was an English painter and decorative artist, remembered in part for her association with members of the Bloomsbury Group, especially the writer Lytton Strachey.

Feb 19, 2020 · Dora Carrington (1893–1932) UCL Culture. In 1910, aged 17, Carrington left her middle-class family home in Bedford and moved to London to study drawing, painting and sculpture. Specialising in figure and life drawing, she took up studio space in the Women's Life Room, where nude and clothed models posed daily.
