Eliud Kipchoge EGH (born 5 November 1984) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who competes in the marathon and formerly specialized in the 5000 metres.
May 31, 2024 · Eliud Kipchoge (born November 5, 1984, Kapsisiywa, Kenya) is a Kenyan distance runner who is widely considered the world’s greatest marathoner. Between 2014 and 2019 he won all 10 marathons he entered, and in 2018–23 he held the world record in the event.
On 25 September 2022, at the age of 37, he set a new official record of 2:01.09 before Kelvin Kiptum became the world's fastest man over the distance at the 2023 Chicago Marathon with a time of 2:00:35.
